Bedfords Park Visitor Centre is 4!

Having seen the window art/ads at the Coopers, Fay & Daniel at Essex Wildlife Trusts Bedfords Park Visitor Centre thought it would be a good idea to use one of their large windows to advertise the centre's 4th birthday open day. The initial concept was to include 2 Badgers holding a banner. Sadly, there wasn't enough space for this. As face painting was being offered, the cartoon girl pictured, has her face painted like a Badger (Logo of the Wildlife Trust's).

Even more Elk!

One of my last visits to the Elk bar, Fulham for a while. This was actually the 2nd time of doing these particular boards. As, there was a difficulty reading the white lettering on the green background. I was called back to outline all the wording with black. Which has helped solve the issue.

Corporal Machine Guitar Case
I'd never thought of doing this!
A good friend and one of ' The Bombers', asked if i'd write on his guitar cases to advertise the band and promote the record company...
Corporal was happy!
I've got a new line in custom guitar case art... anyone?

Back Bar @ The Valentine

The Valentine, Gants Hill required a small amount of black & white signage and labelling for their what's on board. More and more pubs/bars are now leaning towards a crisper, cleaner approach to boarding throughout newly refurbished establishments. This job worked particularly well with the coloured lighting and good merchandising on the back bar.

Bitter End 1st Birthday!

An example here of just some of the window advertising completed for the Bitter End, Romford's 1st birthday party. Always a bonus to work at a local venue! Something I love about working on glass, as I'm sure i've mentioned before. Is that on a bright day, the shadows of the design stretch across walls & floors and can be read normally. A subtle little extra advertising that people might pick up on without actually realising.

V.I.P. Only!
Fiesta Havana in Fulham needed to jazz up an existing entrance to the club. I was asked to simply write 'VIP Entrance', but suggested making the fire doors more of a feature by adding the curtains and fancy frame work around the lettering. I painted the door with a blackboard paint base and then used Posterman markers to render the curtains.
Simple & effective!

1 day's speed painting @ Elk bar!

It took a day to create this large board, advertising the beer garden at the Elk bar in Fulham.I'd already had the initial idea in my head before starting this piece. So I was able to get stuck right in with the painting, building it all up from a basic three colour blend. Using the Elk's spotlighting as my background light source. One of the bar staff was most complimentary, saying that the way I was working reminded him of Bob Ross! I must admit, I felt in top form as this work came together piece by piece. The only regret is that I had to place the lettering over the top. However, that was what I was there to do. But, creating a large painting as quickly as I had done has since inspired me to replicate the work on canvas at home. The results of which I shall hopefully post up in the next few days...

Last boards for Ranch bar...

The last of the 'Ranch' boards, Twickenham!
Should, now see a little more time spent concentrating on the completion of the murals at Chafford and Bedfords park... Can't wait to get back over there and finish off that dragonfly.

Girlie makeover for Eva's room

It was nice to receive a call from a client whom I'd created a nursery for a few years ago. At the time, Scott and Jo weren't sure what they were having. So the original mural was kept fairly neutral. They then had a son, who used the room. Then along came a baby girl and this recent job was to 'cover up' some building work and to make the room just a touch more 'girly'. The tent design was viewed as the best way to cover up the removal of a doorway, as colour matching my original sea and sky would of been impossible! A subtle pink was added to the clouds in the room, along with flowers and butterflies. A little colour alteration was all that was required to make the boat more feminine... Little Eva was thrilled!

Beer garden open! Go with the green...

The Elk bar's use of green rather than the usual red 'theme' has been very succesful. I had a great day out in the busy beer garden, working in the sun. The boards came together pretty well. At one point I was working on four at once!
